The Waiting Room - We Are The Ocean

One of my favourite new bands of the past few years have gone and bagged themselves a slot on the main stage at Reading & Leeds Festivals this year. And this brand new track proves just why they deserve it. Their new album is due to be released on April 25th and I for one, cannot wait!

Say Yes - The Xcerts

This goosebump inducing cover is brought to you by The Xcerts. Originally by American singer-songwriter Elliott Smith, the lads have done a simply stunning job. The Scottish accent manages to add another level of raw sincerity to the beautiful lyrics. There are no more words to describe it. Just listen.

Milk Teeth - Japanese Voyeurs

Japanese Voyeurs' leading lady Romily Alice has a strangely addictive voice. Definately not to be confused with Hayley Williams, Alice sounds something like a 12 year old girl trapped in an angry grunge queen's body. You can currently catch them on the Rock Sound Exposure Tour across the UK and their haunting track 'Smother Me' can be downloaded for free online. They also give you a great excuse to Google naughty things, if that's what you're into.

My Rock N Roll - Dinosaur Pile-Up

Leeds based trio Dinosaur Pile-Up have a definate Nirvana thing going on that will be sure to melt your face clean off. Their debut album Growing Pains has been doing pretty well and I predict big things for them in the near future. They are currently on the Rock Sound Exposure Tour and this is their brand new video. It feels so good to hear grunge again.

White Limo - Foo Fighters

A limo, Lemmy from Motorhead, rollerblades and champagne. If you're Foo Fighters, that's all you need to make a music video. Plus, this hilarious low budget video for the band's new screamy track also features Mrs Dave Grohl. Perfect viewing for both him and her on Valentine's Day.

Dead Model - Imperial Leisure

Imperial Leisure can do ska, they can do punk, they can do ska-punk and even a bit of rap. And now it seems they can do good ol' rock too. This is their new single which comes out on March 14th and it has to be said, the video is supurb. The track will feature on their new album which will follow shortly after. As fans of the 'guerilla gig', the band have performed on streets and beaches across the UK as well as doing little set under the Eiffel Tower. They even appeared on the news! Make sure you tune into Nerve Radio on March 15th at 1pm to hear them play a few tracks live.

Maybe We'll Die, Maybe We Won't - Blitz Kids

'A natural classic' sums up this track quite well. Wonderfully infectious and hugely powerful, Blitz Kids have provided us with yet another massive anthem. I highly recommend you check out some more of their stuff, including their song with Aled Jones from Kids In Glass Houses. I defy you not to love them instantly.

The Ballad Of Mona Lisa - Panic! At The Disco

It seems that Panic! At The Disco have done a 360 with their new material. After their reinvention for second album Pretty Odd failed to attract much mainsteam attention - although I still believe its a cracking record - the band appear to have gone back to the old ways of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. Perhaps Ryan Ross and Jon Walker got the folky Beatles influence in the divorce. Not only does this track give me shivers (in a good way), the new video has an awesome steampunk/murder mystery vibe. Here is the lyric video, which proves that the Las Vegas buys have returned to a world of debauchery.

Fall On Your Sword - LostAlone

Fancy a huge anthemic track with some filthy guitars thrown in? Then look no further than LostAlone. This is a mighty track by the Derbyshire lads who are currently working on their second album. They're not doing too badly either, with a support slot for My Chemical Romance's UK Tour fast approaching.

Slackerpop - The Xcerts

Try as I might, this song won't dislodge itself from my brain. But to be honest, I wouldn't want it too. It's fierce verses are perfection, and that chorus is beyond words. The Xcerts describe their sound as 'distorted pop' and liken themselves to a 'colder, darker, cosier Jimmy Eat World'. Whatever they are, they do it well. And guess what? You can catch them on the Rock Sound Exposure Tour this month.

Your Own Love - VersaEmerge

Look, it's Paramore! Only these guys are from Florida and have a slightly more kick-ass feel. VersaEmerge are in the UK right now so check em' out if you're after a younger Hayley Williams and co with even more eye-liner.

My Boots - LIGHTS

If electro-pop from outer space is your thing then LIGHTS is your girl. The World of Warcraft fanatic is a super talented lady from Canada who combines heartfelt lyrics with a whole host of instruments to create beautifully infectious songs for your ears. This is her latest single but if you want to hear it stripped down to just a girl and her guitar then LIGHTS has made an acoustic version available for free download on her Facebook page. So 'Like' away...

We Are Fucking Angry - The King Blues

Unlike Bruce Banner, you will like The King Blues when they're angry. The opinionated ska punk band have released an anthem for all those student protesters and government haters out there, and the message is pretty clear. Here is a promo clip of the track with a few clips that demonstrate their point, but you can also download the full song for free. If you want to hear some slightly more relaxed King Blues then check out Holiday, poetic punk at its best.

Ambition Is Critical - The Blackout

Another Welsh wonder for you now. The Blackout are six cheeky lads that hail from a little place called Merthyr Tydfil. An excellent live band, not only do they play stomping hardcore anthems but they also supply plenty of comedy banter. And judging by this video, they have just as much fun behind the scenes too. You may also be interested to know that you can get this track for the price of a glass of tap water... thats right, it's FREE!

Front Row Seats To The End Of The World - Funeral For A Friend

One tour not to be missed this year is that of Welsh rockers Funeral For A Friend, and the lads have been kind enough to give us their new single for absolutely nothing! It's taken from the new album 'Welcome Home Armageddon' which is due for release on March 14th and is a crackin' tune. So what are you waiting for? Download it now!

Beech Like The Tree - Lower Than Atlantis

Lower Than Atlantis are the type of band that are not afraid to throw their guitars across the room at then end of a set. Their raw angry grunge/punk is tipped to be on everyone's iPods in 2011 and this is their latest single. I would also highly recommend the lyrical genius of 'I'm Not Bulimic (I Just Wanted To See How Far I Could Stick My Fingers Down My Throat)' on their excellent debut album 'Far Q' as well as their free EP 'Punk On The Covers' which features their take on Paramore's 'That's What You Get' and The Police's 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic' and Foo Fighter's 'Everlong'.

Carry It - Travis Barker ft. RZA, Raekwon & Tom Morello

As if the return of Blink 182 wasn't exciting enough, the band's legendary drummer Mr Travis Barker is also working on a new side project. He will release 'Give The Drummer Some' on March 15th, but this ain't no 'solo' project. The record will see Barker collaborate with big names such as Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Rick Ross and The Clipse. Impressive much? This track is available on iTunes right now and features members of the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA and Raekwon, as well as guitar magician Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. It's a brave slide into hip-hop but it somehow works.

If You Think This Song Is About You It Probably Is - D.R.U.G.S.

Already big news this year, D.R.U.G.S - or Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows - is a bit of a mash-up of other bands. Craig Owens was in Chiodos, Matt Good is from From First To Last, Aaron Stern hails from Matchbook Romance, Nick Martin is from Undermined and Adam Russell is in Story of the Year. Their debut single has already caused controversy with an explicit video that the group advertised by leaking a staged sex-tape of Owens and porn-star Raven Alexis online. Here is the short and consored version of the music video, but if you fancy seeing more then our good friends at Kerrang! will help you out. Lets hope the debut album is also a good'un.

Pulp Fiction - Motion City Soundtrack

It's rare to find an album that you can listen to over and over again without it slowly becoming torture. But Motion City Soundtrack's 2010 release My Dinosaur Life is one of those gems. Expertly produced by Blink 182's Mark Hoppus it is the perfect soundtrack for those awkward teenage years. The more you listen to it the more you discover and it was incredibly difficult to choose one song to represent such a brilliant record. I almost threw a Kevin The Teenager tantrum infact. But here is Pulp Fiction, a beacon of Justin Pierre's lyrical talent. Now go download the album.

Edit Me - Twin Atlantic

A new track from Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic is always good news. Sounding like an inexperienced Biffy Clyro, their debut album 'Vivarium' delivered eight brilliantly catchy and well written songs - and this one is no different.

Think - Mammal

You know the type of music that makes you want to start a mosh pit in the cereal isle of Asda? No? Well listen to this and you will. Unfortunately Mammal are no longer together (although two of them have now formed Black Devil Yard Boss) but the awesome power of their songs make them well worth downloading. Reminicient of Rage Against The Machine, the Australian four-piece combine funk and rock n' roll with a middle finger to the world. It's a true shame we will no longer get to experience them live.

All I Want - A Day To Remember

This video has just been released and it's pretty damn cool. It features some wicked cameos from various rock stars lip syncing to the All I Want, which i must say is an awesome song. My favourite motivational speaker/rock star Andrew W.K., Silverstein, Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Your Demise, Trivium, Set Your Goals and surprisingly Pete Wentz (a bit more time on his hands these days Wentzy?) all make appearences. A Day To Remember are obviously very popular...

Dream Catcher - Unicorn Kid

I have to admit, i'm a little bit in love with this guy. His real name is Ollie Sabin and he comes from Edinburgh. I have to admit, I dont know much about the genre of chiptune (i beleive it's basically music made from the blips and beeps of Nintendo Game Boys and the like) but I certainly like Unicorn Kid's work. This track combines chiptune with a bit of dupstep and never fails to make me smile. He's a force to be reckoned with live too!

Nothing Good Has Happened Yet - We Are The Ocean

Champions of the 'two lead vocalists' format, Essax 5-piece We Are The Ocean have be racking up some work experience supporting some high profile acts including Funeral For A Friend and Lostprophets over the years. Their debut album 'Cutting Our Teeth' was very well received and this early track is my favourite (FYI: its only available on the extended version of the album). If you like what you hear then you can download a brand new track for free from thier website. Great start to 2011!

Rescue Me - You Me At Six feat. Chiddy

It's caused a bit of a debate on Twitter but I quite like You Me At Six's new track. It's a collaboration with the 'Chiddy' half of American hip hop group Chiddy Bang and the YM@6 boys have assured that it's 'just a bit of fun' and wont be on the eagerly awaited third album. Some of the fans aren't digging the hip hop element of the track, and I have to say I do think Chiddy's vocals are a little weak, but overall I admire their bravery for doing something a bit different. What do you think?
