High Five, Swan Dive, Nose Dive - Pulled Apart By Horses

One band I am desperate so see live next year is Pulled Apart By Horses. Their debut album sounds like nothing I have heard before and every single live review I have read has given them 10/10. They also recently featured on Radio 1's Live Lounge and did a cover of Willow Smith's Whip My Hair (fused with a bit of Devo's Whip It) that actually made that song bareable. This song however, is on the debut album and not only is it furiously brilliant but the video is pretty epic too.

Seventeen - Bel Casino

This beautiful song is by four guys from Bournemouth. Perfect for a day on the beach, their debut EP 'Seventeen' is a chilled out masterpiece with a bit of funk thrown in for good measure. Although doing quite well on the local live scene, Bel Casino deserve a lot more recognition. Be sure to check out their next release which they are recording at the moment.

Spotlight - Patrick Stump

One of the albums I am most looking forward to getting my hands on in 2011 is Patrick Stump's debut solo record Soul Punk, due to be released in February. The super talented - and now super skinny - ex Fall Out Boy front man will be writing, producing and performing the whole thing himself and has even posted a video of himself as a one man band online, performing his new track all by himself. He is currently holding a poll on his website allowing the fans to choose between two different versions of Spotlight. This one, the 'Oh Nostalgia' version, is currently winning but you can still vote!

Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites & WEEKENDS!!! - Skrillex

Dubstep fans take note! Skrillex is the new kid on the block currently taking the world by storm. He is in fact Sonny Moore, the ex-front man of a wicked band called From First To Last, but since going solo has been creating some seriously spectacular dubstep and electronica (as well as realeasing an awesome solo EP, called 'Gypsyhook', under his real name). I've cheated a bit and posted two of his tracks because I couldn't choose just one. The first is taken from his new EP of the same name and the second is from his equally brilliant debut EP 'My Name Is Skrillex'. I also highly recommend that you check out his remixes of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, La Roux's In For The Kill and Twin Atlantic's What Is Light, Where Is Laughter?

Right Now - Not Advised

Another incredibly infectious pop punk track... and band for that matter. I saw Not Advised live a few years ago but they have recently started hitting the big time. The supported Canterbury this year and are apparently personal favourites of You Me At Six. Sure to be big news in the near future.

Calm Down - Canterbury

I mentioned them in my previous post but Canterbury really have been one of my favourite bands of 2010. They dont have a single bad song on their album, and whats even better is that the album is available to download for free online! And its completely legal. Bargain. They are also brilliant live which is probably why they have toured with the likes of You Me At Six this year. This track is from their new mini EP and ive had it stuck in my head all day!

We Had It All - Futures

I can highly recommend Futures' debut mini album 'The Holiday' and, if this new demo is anything to go by, the next release will be pretty good too. For those who are fans of rising stars Canterbury, these lads are sure to tickle your fancy. Packed full of catchy hooks and infectious energy each song is a little bundle of joy. I saw them live at Sonisphere this summer and although they didnt particularly suit the metal extravaganza setting they still put on an impressive show. Front man Ant West serves as some good eye candy too.

Gay Pirates - Cosmo Jarvis

A song about Gay Pirates? Surely not! Well here it is. Mr Harrison Cosmo Krikoryan Jarvis (I can see why he shortened it) has apparently been around for a few years but it wasnt until this gem was tweeted by the almighty Stephen Fry and went somewhat viral that he appeared in our field of vision. A truely heartbreaking tale of man love on the high seas

Bad Blood - The Damned Things

The Every Time I Die/Anthrax/Fall Out Boy supergroup's debut album is seven shades of awesome and this is my favourite of all the tracks. Unfortunately I could only find this live recording so you will have to download the track to hear it in all its glory. But i promise you its worth it. Haunting riffs and incredible lyrics (courtesy of Keith Buckley's impressive pipes) make this an instant classic.

The Ballad Of Tom Jones - Space feat. Cerys Matthews

I recently rediscovered this track and cant for the life of me think why I ever forgot about it. The guys who bought you 'The Female Of The Species' and the girl from Catatonia (and the Australian jungle) got together in 1998 to write a love letter to Welsh crooner Tom Jones. The song tells the story of a couple who want to kill each other but have second thoughts after listening to Tom's back-catalogue. Seriously, i'm not making this up. Genius lyrics and that gloriuosly catchy 'Tom Jones, Tom Jones' bit make this well worth a listen.

You Really Got Me - Ray Davies feat. Metallica

Kinks legend Ray Davies has released a 'collaboriation album' on which he revisits many classic Kinks tracks with a little help from his friends. The fact that Mr Davies is friends with Metallica is pretty mind-blowing anyway but this supercharged version of 1964 hit You Really Got Me made my bones shake. How they managed to combine metal with 60s rock n roll so wonderfully is a mystery but Hetfield's growls seem to give this song a whole new dimension.
